As a top-tier Asian and internationally renowned research university, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is committed to cultivating industry leaders with innovative thinking. Through its Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition, it provides robust support for young students to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.
The HKUST Million Dollar (International) Entrepreneurship Competition was officially launched on February 28, 2017, in Nansha, Guangzhou. Professor Wu Enbo, Associate Vice-President of HKUST, stated that hosting the competition finals in Nansha would attract numerous entrepreneurial talents and stimulate the overall entrepreneurial atmosphere in the region.
He further emphasized that as award-winning teams settle in Nansha, more teams and companies would follow. With their growth, Nansha would cultivate its own talent pool and outstanding local enterprises.
It is worth noting that the HKUST Million Dollar (International) Entrepreneurship Competition has been held for six consecutive years. The competition adopts international judging mechanisms, inviting domestic and international professional judges and financing teams. It attracts global participants, including teams from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and teams filtered through this competition are highly regarded in Hong Kong’s financing circles.
This year, the competition included five sub-regions: Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Macao, and Beijing. Each region employed its unique methods to *** outstanding teams through multiple rounds of competitions.

On February 17, 2017, the Beijing sub-region of the HKUST Million Dollar International Entrepreneurship Competition officially opened for registration. Organized by the HKUST Business School Mainland Office, co-organized by the HKUST EMBA North China Alumni Association, and undertaken by the alumni enterprise "Zhongxin 170 Entrepreneurship Camp," the competition aimed to recruit outstanding entrepreneurial projects from various sectors.
